We donated books to schools and community centres in Sofia region
For the 11th consecutive year, 15 school libraries and 16 community centres in the municipalities of Etropole and Srednogorje region have received book donations on the occasion of 24 May, the Day of the Holy Brothers Ss Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of Slavic literature. The donations are part of Geotechmin и Ellatzite-Med‘s corporate social responsibility programme Culture and National Identity.
Among the books published by Zahari Stoyanov Publishing House are works of prominent Bulgarian writers of various generations – Ivan Vazov, Hristo Botev, Angel Karaliychev, Nikolay Liliev, Dimitar Dimov, Leda Mileva, Veli Chaushev, Ivan Granitsky, etc. World classics books by Oscar Wilde, Cervantes, Pushkin, Maupassant, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and Gianni Rodari also adorn the carefully selected book collections.
‘By donating to our school library for another year, you help enrich children’s knowledge and strengthen their reading skills. Thus, you once again show your commitment to our common cause – to inspire our students to acquire better education. And what a better way than reading books unveiling other worlds which spark our imagination!’ wrote Mrs Mila Mancheva, Principal of Hristo Yasenov Secondary School in a thank-you letter to the donors.
Mrs Tatyana Nikolova, Secretary of Nadezhda – 1900 Community Centre in the village of Chavdar emphasised that Geotechmin and Ellatzite-Med are the major donors of books to the local centre. These donations help them enrich the local library with new valuable editions.
Letters of gratitude were also received from other schools and community centres.
