UMG library renovated through Bulgarian Virtues Programme
Complete renovation of the library at the University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski” (UMG) was carried out with funds from GEOTECHMIN GROUP’s Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme. The event was part of the official celebration of the Patron’s Day of the University – the feast day of Saint Ivan Rilski.
The renovation was initiated by Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov, President of Geotechmin OOD. The funds were provided by the companies Geotechmin, Ellatzite-Med, Geostroy and Geotrading.
At the opening ceremony, the ribbon was cut by Prof. PhD Eng. Ivaylo Koprev – Rector of UMG “St. Ivan Rilski”, PhD Eng. Ivan Vutov – Vice President of Geotechmin OOD and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Geotrading AD, and M.Eng. Stoil Dimitrov – General Production Director at Ellatzite-Med.
‘Our university is a spiritual centre. It is important for us to demonstrate that knowledge is present here and that we are actively working to turn everything written in the books into reality. I would like to express my profound gratitude to Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov and the Trustees of the University!’ said Prof. PhD Eng. Ivaylo Koprev.
‘I strongly believe that with this renovation, we have provided modern educational facilities for both students and lecturers, ensuring that this valuable literature will be preserved for future generations. We, at GEOTECHMIN GROUP, will continue our fruitful collaboration with the university on future joint projects,’ said M.Eng. Stoil Dimitrov. He handed out two presents to the UMG Rector: a Bible on behalf of Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov, and an icon of St. Ivan Rilski from M.Eng. Dragomir Draganov – Executive Director of Ellatzite-Med.
During the official celebration of the Patron’s Day of the mining university, M.Eng. Stoil Dimitrov announced that Ellatzite-Med provides 4 one-year scholarships for UMG students. Furthermore, other companies from GEOTECHMIN GROUP will announce scholarships for UMG students as well.
