UACEG students explore career opportunities through direct interaction with Ellatzite-Med and Geostroy
Students from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) showed great interest in the stands of Ellatzite-Med AD and Geostroy AD, part of GEOTECHMIN GROUP, during the second edition of the Students Meet Business initiative
Organised by UACEG and the Student Council, the forum provides a unique platform for students to connect directly with companies from the industry, explore state-of-the-art technologies, and find future career opportunities. The main objective of the event is to foster direct interaction between students and business representatives by presenting career opportunities in the fields related to the students’ majors.
‘One of the most valuable aspects of the initiative is the face-to-face contact with sector companies. This bridges the gap between theoretical training and hands-on experience for Bulgaria’s future young builders,’ emphasised Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arch. Gichka Kutova – Kamenova, Rector of UACEG. According to her, the event not only promotes career development but also highlights the importance of the professions in the construction sector.
Antoaneta Georgieva, Human Resources Director at Geotechmin OOD, expressed her hope that the forum would become a tradition, stating, ‘The Students Meet Business initiative provides an excellent foundation for students to find professional opportunities through our internship and scholarship programmes offered to UACEG students.’ She emphasised that GEOTECHMIN GROUP is dedicated to supporting young talents by offering various opportunities to work on projects in a real-world environment under the guidance of highly skilled mentors.
Milena Hristova, Human Resources Director at Ellatzite-Med, said, ‘I fully support the UACEG’s initiative and strongly believe that such programmes are the ideal way for businesses to connect with students and for us, as employers, to present career development opportunities.’
The students also had a positive experience interacting with the representatives of GEOTECHMIN GROUP companies. Zdravko Damyanov, a fourth-year student in Hydraulic Engineering, said, ‘Forums like this help me learn about the practical aspects of the profession. Last year, I completed practical training at Ellatzite-Med AD, which further motivated me to hone my skills in hydraulic engineering.’ Today he is already an intern at Geoproject EOOD, another GEOTECHMIN GROUP company, with the ambition to prove himself and become a full-time member of the team.
The Students Meet Business initiative is a key enabler of cooperation between universities and companies and is essential for the development of future professionals.
