Three companies from Geotechmin Group are partners in a dual education project in Srednogorie region
On 18 April 2019, 8th grade students majoring in Automotive Transport Equipment at Zlatitsa Vocational High School of Agriculture and Technology (VHSAT) visited ProAuto Service Centre of Geotrading AD in the town of Etropole. The visit was held as part of a dual education project in which Geostroy AD , Geotrading AD and Ellatzite-Med AD are partners for the 2018-2019 school year.
The eighth-graders learned more about the activity of Geotrading AD as a trading company which offers mostly mining industry products. The company also operates two ProAuto Service Centres – in Sofia and Etropole. During their visit, the students learned about the workflow process, from receiving a vehicle in the service centre to delivering it to the client in perfect working order.
On 4 December 2018, 11 students visited the Flotation Complex in the village of Mirkovo where Ellatzite-Med AD and Geostroy AD presented their main activities. After the presentations, the students visited the Production Unit “Heavy Machinery and Automotive Transport” of Ellatzite-Med AD and Geostroy Worksite where they were able to get a first-hand look at some of the machines and equipment of the two companies. Furthermore, they were able to get into the cabins of a front-end loader, a crawler dozer, and a saddle tractor (a gondola).
All students received special gifts from the three companies.
The partnership in this dual education project is part of GEOTECHMIN GROUP’s corporate social responsibility policy. It aims at supporting the transition from school to work for young people in the regions where the companies operate, thus providing them with attractive job opportunities. The dual form of training will be conducted in two places – at the high school and in the partner companies. It will include vocational education and practical training in an authentic work environment for 11th and 12th grade students enrolled in dual education courses at VHSAT. Those of them, who successfully pass the dual education programme in GEOTECHMIN GROUP’s companies and demonstrate skills, willingness to work and high level of responsibility, will continue working full time for three of the leading companies in Bulgaria with excellent career prospects.
