The initiative “Our Green Tomorrow” continues
During the celebration of Forest Week 2013, employees of the GEOTECHMIN GROUP along with representatives of the municipalities of Srednogorie region planted over 5,800 saplings. The planting was carried out in the urban environments of Zlatitsa town, the villages of Karlievo, Mirkovo, Chavdar and Chelopech, in the area of Vassil Levski Memorial near Galabets passage and around the “Holy Spirit” Chapel which is next to Benkovski village.
The saplings were purchased from the local forestry by own financial means of the Group. Some of the tree species that were planted are hollyhock, Japanese quince, maple, ash, red oak, laurel, acacia and common privet.
The campaign is part of Geotechmin and Ellatzite-Med’s programme for corporate social responsibility, which includes the forestation of 30 decares municipal areas and woodlands and planting of trees in urban areas in Srednogorie region and in the towns of Etropole and Samokov.
“Our Green Tomorrow” is carried out by financial resources of both companies and with the help of volunteering employees. Throughout the year other “green” initiatives will be implemented under this programme.
