Prof. Dsc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov granted scholarships to students at the patronal festival of the University of Mining and Geology
On 17 October 2019, Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov presented a Scholarship Donation Certificate to Prof. Dr. Lyuben Totev – Rector of the University of Mining and Geology “St Ivan Rilski” at the official celebration of the Patronal Festival of the University. Four companies – Geotechmin OOD, Ellatzite-Med AD, Geostroy AD and Geotrading AD granted 17 one-year scholarships to students with very good and excellent academic performance. In his speech to the academic community, Council of Rectors, representatives of institutions, business and students, Prof. Voutov emphasized that the high-quality education and training at the university is a foundation for the sustainable development of the mineral raw materials industry, mining science and practice.
‘A great number of graduates from the University of Mining and Geology have been working in the Bulgarian mineral raw materials industry. Thanks to their hard labour and expertise, the sector develops sustainably, while also contributing to the national economy and regions’ prosperity. It is of vital importance for us – the managers of mining companies – to provide a long-term perspective on their development, their efficiency and protection of the environment. But in order to achieve these goals, we invest not only in innovative technologies and “smart” machines, but also in human capital – our employees and future professionals. This is why four companies from GEOTECHMIN GROUP – Ellatzite-Med AD, Geotechmin OOD, Geostroy AD and Geotrading AD grant scholarships to students at the University of Mining and Geology “St Ivan Rilski” within the framework of our Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme,’ said Prof. Voutov. ‘We strongly believe that by doing so, we will contribute to enhancing your motivation to learn, develop and create new opportunities for your future professional career,’ he added, addressing the students.
Among the official representatives of GEOTECHMIN GROUP attending the Patronal Festival were also PhD Eng. Vladimir Vutov – Vice President of Geotechmin OOD and Executive Director of Geostroy AD, Mr. Dominic Hamers – Executive Director of Geotechmin OOD, M.Eng. Dragomir Draganov – Executive Director of Ellatzite-Med AD, and directors of company departments.
