Worthy Bulgarians 2020 Awards were presented on 15 October at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. For the 18th consecutive year, 24 Hours Daily has held an awards ceremony to recognize Bulgarian people for their good work and contribution to life in Bulgaria. Again this year, Geotechmin OOD was among the traditional partners of the Worthy Bulgarians Initiative.
The Executive Director of the company Mr Dominic Hamers presented an award to Mrs Nadya Mircheva whose 6-year-old daughter was meant to undergo stem cell transplantation in Germany, but unfortunately she did not live long enough to be treated. Her parents donated the money collected from donations to nine severely ill Bulgarian people.
‘The struggle for a child’s life is the hardest trial for the parents. I admire your tremendous courage and fortitude. Despite the pain of this heavy loss, you have helped other people with serious illnesses. This is worthy of respect!’ said Mr Hamers. He emphasized that the award-winning worthy Bulgarians are a great example to us all.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kostadin Angelov and the Minister of Education and Science Mr Krasimir Valchev, the Mayor of Sofia Municipality Mrs Yordanka Fandakova, and partners of the initiative.
