The competition 140 Years of Freedom. My Homeland Heroes and Historic Events organized by Geotechmin and Ellatzite-Med ended by awarding the winners with first, second and third place prizes. 

Students from 12 schools in Sofia region showed a keen interest in the topic dedicated to Bulgaria’s liberation from the Ottoman yoke and historic events related to national liberation struggles. 181 students’ works were submitted to this creative writing and drawing competition in two age categories: 5th - 7th grade and 8th - 12th grade. 95 of these works were essays, compositions, poems or multimedia presentations.

The week of 11-14 June 2018, Geotechmin and Ellatzite-Med awarded all the winners selected by a three-member authoritative and independent jury. The winners received incentive prizes and partner schools received teaching aids and educational materials.

The school headmasters expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the competition. They said that students had been motivated by the interesting lectures given by representatives of Tradition Regional Club - Etropole and Koprivshtitsa in March 2018.

The competition is part of the corporate social responsibility programme Culture and National Identity implemented by the two companies and has been held for the fourth consecutive year.
