On December 12, 2012 in Sofia, for the eleventh consecutive time, the national contest "Building of the Year" was held under the auspices of the Bulgarian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.

Under the newly established category "Urban Development" prizes were bestowed on the Mayor of Sofia – Yordanka Fandakova, the executive director of Metropoliten JSC – Stoyan Bratoev and the main contractors of the metro stations which belong to metro diameter II. Geotechmin was awarded for its work on the structures of metro station 11-II "James Bourchier" which was one of the most important infrastructure projects carried out in Sofia in 2012. The prestigious statuette was received by the managing director of the company Dominic Hamers.
