The students from one of Sofia region’s largest schools – Hristo Yasenov Secondary School in Etropole Municipality will be able to practice their favourite water sports in two newly renovated indoor swimming pools thanks to a major overhaul performed under Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme.

GEOTECHMIN GROUP supports the construction of a new chapel at the University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski” (UMG). The modern sanctuary will sit at the heart of the university campus and will bear the name of UMG’s patron – Saint Venerable Ivan Rilski, a spiritual protector of the Bulgarian people and the patron saint of miners, geologists and all workers in the mining industry. The solemn water-blessing ceremony and laying of the foundation stone were rendered on 14 June by His Eminence Bishop Polycarp of Belogradchik, Vicar of the Metropolitan of Sofia. The symbolic first sod was turned by the Rector Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivaylo Koprev and the trustees Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov – President of Geotechmin OOD and Prof. DSc. Eng. Nikolay Valkanov – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Minstroy Holding AD.

GEOTECHMIN GROUP presented opportunities for internship and career development at a meeting with students from the University of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy (UACEG). The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Eng. Slaveyko Gospodinov – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Quality and Accreditation, Head of Higher Geodesy Department, and Prof. Dr. Eng. Rumen Milanov – Lecturer of Transport Construction at UACEG, as well as Group’s company managers looking for highly motivated students to join their staff.

Geotechmin OOD and Ellatzite-Med AD have made valuable book donations to 17 community centres and 15 schools in Etropole Municipality and Srednogorie region where the companies of GEOTECHMIN GROUP operate. Furthermore, a large collection of books was donated to Svetlina 1921 Community Centre in Slatina District in Sofia, which is Geotechmin’s long-standing partner. ‘The books are provided on the occasion of 24 May – the Day of the Holy Brothers Ss Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of Slavic literature. They will be accessible not only to library users, but also to all participants in our creative learning programs, clubs and folk ensembles at Svetlina 1921,’ wrote the community centre’s organisers in their thank-you letter.
