Nearly 900 kids celebrate Children’s Day 2024
Nearly 900 children and their parents or grandparents had plenty of fun during the traditional Children’s Day celebrations organised for GEOTECHMIN GROUP employees. The events took place at the Sports Complex in the village of Mirkovo (15 June) and ProAuto Service Centre in the town of Etropole (16 June).
The kids joined the exciting adventure Children of the Earth filled with amazing eco games, creative activities, dances, and gifts. The main theme of this year’s celebrations was the environment. The children painted on eco-friendly recycled bags, competed in teams to separate various types of waste, took part in a water-saving game or created recycled art – cardboard houses which, arranged in front of the stage, presented Geotechmin World. Most of the presenter’s questions were related to the environmental theme. A fun quiz to spotlight children’s environmental awareness was organised by the two associations of Ellatzite-Med employees: Miner’s Club – Etropole and Sports and Health Club – Etropole. The kids had to answer questions, such as: What does recycling mean? What happens to the waste if it is not recycled? How to reduce paper waste? What is composting?
The kids said they had lots of fun and their parents were delighted that the celebrations had become a tradition. What is more, along with the fun games and dances, the children learned new important things for a more sustainable future.
The musical surprise this year was the concert of the famous rap singer Venci Venc’. He performed songs of the rap duo Pavell & Venci Venc’, as well as his new solo pieces. The star, who signed hundreds of autographs for the kids, said that children are his favorite audience. ‘They are the most sincere audience, they are like a sheet of clear white paper whom you can give energy and who, like mirrors, give it back to you,’ he said, adding a special message to the little participants, ‘I wish you dream big, because dreams come true and it is very important to paint everything you want to experience, first in your head, so you can have it in your hands later!’
The Children’s Day celebrations of GEOTECHMIN GROUP is organised under Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme with the financial support of the companies Geotechmin OOD, Ellatzite-Med AD, Geostroy AD and Geotrading AD . The initiative is part of the Group’s corporate social responsibility focused on enhancing the wellbeing of employees and their children.
