More than 100 participants displayed their knowledge and talents in The Power of Kindness Competition
One hundred and one contestants aged from 3 to 18 years participated with their writings and artworks in the first online The Power of Kindness Competition intended for the children and grandchildren of GEOTECHMIN GROUP’s employees. The competition was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Geotechmin OOD, and the topic was prompted by the unprecedented times we are living in. The times when humanity is facing one of the most serious and uncertain crises in recent history – COVID-19, which has challenged us to be better people and rediscover the value of virtues – generosity, dedication, honesty, empathy, mutual support, heroism and saving lives.
The artworks were evaluated by an authoritative and independent jury. The names of the 36 contestants who won first, second and third place prizes and incentive awards were announced at an online event on 14 June. All the other participants received gifts for their creative endeavors and dedication to the good cause.
‘The unique thing about this competition is that the participants have not only dedicated their artworks to the topic of kindness, but they have also been performing acts of kindness. Along with creating plenty of interesting artworks with expressive impact, they also took amazing responsibility for us, the elderly, to protect us from the virus. They also extended their kindness to vulnerable and needy people, took care of injured animals and joined many other noble causes,’ said Assoc. Prof. Tsvetan Iliev, lecturer of graphic design and member of the jury during the final online event. He added, ‘Not only do I admire the children’s creative endeavors, but also their empathy, devotion, responsibility and concern for the health of others and I congratulate their parents on raising them so well!’

In their works, the participants in The Power of Kindness Competition tell us that doing good deeds brings happiness and even the little things that you do for others and make them happy can bring moments of genuine satisfaction.
