Monument to St Ivan Rilski and 15 scholarships for UMG from GEOTECHMIN GROUP
‘We strongly believe that both students and professors will follow the saint’s advice “Be united, be at peace with each other.” We are convinced that all of you will walk with faith and perseverance on the path of knowledge. I wish plenty of good health and successful implementation of all projects to the academic staff and the young people who have chosen to study at the University of Mining and Geology,’ said Mr Dominic Hamers, Executive Director of Geotechmin OOD at the opening ceremony.
‘Our mission is not only to educate students, but to become a spiritual centre. Thanks to Prof. Voutov and GEOTECHMIN GROUP’s team, we have been taking confident steps in recent years to make the UMG, our guild, one family united by St Ivan Rilski’s covenant,’ said the UMG Rector Prof. PhD Eng. Ivaylo Koprev.
‘Over the past few years, GEOTECHMIN GROUP has provided more than 40 scholarships to UMG students. Dear students, you are welcome to join our scholarship programme and become part of our success! Some of you may become our future colleagues, and why not managers and even company directors,’ said Mr Hamers.
M.Eng. Dragomir Draganov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology and Executive Director of Ellatzite-Med AD, part of GEOTECHMIN GROUP, congratulated the academic staff, emphasizing that they are vital to the continuing success of the university. ‘For decades, you have maintained a high quality educational process, preserving and developing the profound mining traditions we have had for generations. The professors here have prepared many of us, today’s mining managers and specialists, for the challenges in geological and mining operations,’ said M.Eng. Draganov
