Description of the project:
Patstroy-92 AD and its partners in Consortium “Struma-1” have executed Lot 1 of Struma Motorway which is part of the transport axis Vidin – Sofia – Kulata, included in the Trans-European Priority Project No. 7 of TEN-T.

The construction is financed under the Operational Programme “Transport 2007-2013“. 80% of the funds have been granted by the EU Cohesion Fund and 20% have been provided from the State Budget.

Patstroy-92 has executed two motorway sections with a total length of 7.98 km. They are located from km 305+220 to km 310+300 and from km 319+100 to km 322+000. The construction works include “Dolna Dikanya” and “Dupnitsa North” road junctions, some main and auxiliary road facilities, infrastructure networks and retaining walls.

Conducted works:

• excavation works – 1,434,424 cub.m.
• backfill works – 665,199 cub.m.
• roadbed of unsorted crushed stone, road shoulders and a dividing strip – 308,905 cub.m.
• mechanical strengthening of several sections of the roadbed – 88,508 cub.m.
• asphalt works:
  • bituminous prime and tack coats – 663,920 cub.m.
  • asphalt mixtures for base course and binder course – 150,337 t
  • asphalt mixtures for surface course – dense asphalt concrete type A and polymer-modified split mastic asphalt concrete – 244,308 sq.m.
• dewatering facilities, such as water collection and drainage systems, concrete-lined drainage ditches and protective trenches – 52,339 m
• relocation and repair of existing irrigation and water supply structures and construction of new pipelines – 1,659 m
• elastic protective fences, safety nets and 261 meters of silencing fence
• traffic signs and thermoplastic road markings
• reconstruction of a low-voltage power network, overhead lines, automation and telecommunication cables, construction of a 20 KV mast transformer substation
• concrete curbs –12,258 m
• landscaping of adjacent terrains
