Description of the project:
Geotechmin OOD is a subcontractor of the Chinese company CBMI Construction (part of SINOMA Group), which is the EPC contractor of a new cement production line with a capacity of 4,000 tons per day at Devnya Cement plant. For its participation in this project, Geotechmin OOD received a plaquette and a special award in the category “Industrial Buildings - Technological Renovation and Expansion” at the traditional contest “Building of the Year” in December 2014. The event was organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works with the support of sectoral organizations.

Within this project, Geotechmin has built the reinforced concrete structures of the following subprojects on the territory of Devnya Cement:

• Raw Mill Foundation
• Preheater Tower - the highest industrial tower in Bulgaria - about 130 meters high
• Cylindrical Reinforced Concrete Silo with 18 m diameter and a height of 72 m. Its reinforced concrete structure was built by using the slipform method
• Process Filter Building
• Raw Mill Building
• Various types of foundations
• Transfer Tower, Analytic Tower, Cooling Tower

In the construction period, the following works were executed:

• excavation and backfill works – approximately 30,000 cub. m
• reinforcement steel – 1,950 t
• high-strength reinforcement steel for silo prestressing – 40 t
• embedded parts – 60 t
• concrete works – approximately 13,500 cub. m
