Groundbreaking ceremony for a wastewater treatment plant in the Village of Barzia, Berkovitsa Municipality

In September 2013 a groundbreaking ceremony and official inauguration celebrated the start of the project “Wastewater treatment plant for potable waters, Alpine water intake and reconstruction of the water supply system in Barzia village, Berkovitsa municipality”. The event was attended by the Mayor of Berkovitsa Ms. Dimitranka Kamenova, the Governor of Montana region Mr. Anatoly Mladenov, Geotechmin’s Executive Director Mr. Dominic Hamers, other officials and representatives of the Contractor – Consortium “Geostroytechmin” (Geostroy and Geotechmin).
The project has been implemented in accordance with Measure 321 “Basic services for the population and the economy in rural areas” under the Rural Development Programme 2007 – 2013 and with the financial support of the State Fund Agriculture.
The construction of this wastewater treatment facility will improve the access to quality water supply and sewerage infrastructure in Berkovitsa municipality.
The time for completion of construction and assembly works is 85 calendar days.
