Geotrading – Twenty Years of Sustainable Growth and Innovations
In 2025, Geotrading AD celebrates its 20th anniversary. Having proved its worth as a leading trade company in Bulgaria and abroad, the company was founded in 2005 as a part of the GEOTECHMIN industrial group. Over the years, Geotrading has followed a strategy of adapting quickly to the changing market and economic factors, maintaining an excellent reputation as a safe and reliable partner in the trade of mining industry products internationally.
In the beginning, the main activity of Geotrading AD was trading in fuels and spare parts. Over time, the company expanded its product range and partnerships, becoming the exclusive representative of world-renowned brands such as Belshina, Michelin, LiuGong, Rolls-Royce Power System – Germany, Bridgestone, Inelas Poliuretanos, Continental Tires Slovakia s.r.o., Hensley Industries and others. It specializes as a trade company that offers mining industry products on the Bulgarian market, as well as in the Balkans and paves the way for various international brands in Bulgaria.
In 2009, Geotrading AD started its own production of hydraulic hoses, equipping a specialized workshop for this purpose. In 2012, the company introduced an Integrated Management System incorporating the ISO 9001:2008 (quality), ISO 14001:2004 (environment) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (health and safety at work) standards, demonstrating a commitment to high industry standards.
A milestone in Geotrading’s history is the successful partnership with the official importer of HITACHI to develop the HITACHI EX2600-7 LD mining excavator, powered by a state-of-the-art MTU engine. In 2019, the machine created in the framework of the joint project was presented at the world-famous BAUMA exhibition in Munich, showcasing Geotrading’s expertise and drive for innovation.
In 2023, the company signed a significant contract, one of the largest for Bridgestone in Europe for the purchase of industrial tyres, proving its ability to overcome challenges and meet customer demands. The company has been instrumental in importing and supplying world-class advanced machinery to Ellatzite-Med.
Today, Geotrading AD offers a wide range of products and services, including the sale of mining machinery, milling equipment, spare parts, tyres, fuels, lubricants and chemical reagents. The company has a service center for construction and mining equipment, as well as a team of more than 120 professionals who share the corporate values of honesty, loyalty, professionalism and responsibility.
In line with its sustainability goals, Geotrading has made a number of green investments. In 2021, the ProAuto Multifunctional Complex was completed and certified under the British BREEAM 2013 standard. Today, the employees of Geotreading and four other companies of the GEOTECHMIN Group work in the Complex in a comfortable and sustainable environment.
Another aspect of green investment and environmental policy is the implemented green energy projects. In 2021, the company built two photovoltaic plants on the roofs of its service bases in Sofia and Etropole, producing a total of 74 MWh of green electricity per year. In 2024, the company installed its largest photovoltaic power plant to date with an installed capacity of 82.72 kWp on the roof of the ProAuto Multifunctional Complex. Thanks to the three photovoltaic plants and the green certificates purchased, Geotrading’s energy mix is composed of 100% green energy.
During the 20 years of its successful journey, the company has received a number of awards – for sales realised, for the best design of a trade fair exposition during the 70th International Technical Fair in Plovdiv, and ProAuto Multifunctional Complex is the winner of the prestigious award ‘Building of the Year’. The company has received award plaques for long-term cooperation by the Scientific and Technical Union of Mining, Geology and Metallurgy among others.
Alongside its business success, Geotrading is a socially responsible company. It is one of the founders of the Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme of the GEOTECHMIN Group and supports and implements meaningful noble causes for the benefit of society.
