Geotechmin OOD supports the Worthy Bulgarians Initiative honouring everyday heroes
At a heartwarming ceremony, the 24 Hours Daily honoured several dozen Bulgarians as part of the Worthy Bulgarians campaign.
These are the modern Bulgarian heroes – the medics who assisted in treating the injured from Kočani nightclub fire, North Macedonia; the students who raised money through charity initiatives; the young man who rescued a team of journalists from one of the country’s largest fires in Svilengrad; the teacher who created a literacy website; the IT specialist who teaches youngsters to drive safely; the musician who paints and sells pictures to raise money for children with cancer – and many more.
The good-doers were honoured at the 22nd edition of the Worthy Bulgarians awards ceremony. Geotechmin OOD has been a long-standing supporter of this initiative by the 24 Hours Daily, as we firmly believe that good deeds, courage and generosity deserve recognition and must be shared to inspire others. Mr Dominic Hamers, Executive Director of Geotechmin OOD, presented an award to musician Yavor Kumanov, who paints pictures for charity, donating all proceeds to support children with cancer.
‘Some people find the strength to fight. Others do even more – they turn their battle into a cause to help others. Yavor has become an ambassador of kindness and compassion, setting a powerful example for children. He and the children battling cancer share more than just a diagnosis – they share good and generous hearts. May there be more ambassadors of kindness among us, like Yavor Kumanov,’ said Mr Dominic Hamers.
‘I am exceedingly happy because it means I am on the right track. I chose to donate to cancer patients because I know what it is like … To everyone, no matter what kind of illness they are going through – have a strong spirit and faith, because they, hand in hand with kindness, always win,’ said Yavor Kumanov upon receiving the award.
