Geotechmin Group supports Open Doors Day at The University of Mining and Geology
GEOTECHMIN GROUP supported the Open Doors Day at the University of Mining and Geology “St Ivan Rilski”, which took place on 14 May in the university yard. The purpose of the event was to arouse young people’s interest in the opportunities to study a wide variety of university majors and boost their career prospects after graduation. The event was opened by the Rector Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivaylo Koprev. GEOTECHMIN GROUP was represented by Dr. Eng. Ivan Vutov, Vice-President of Geotechmin OOD.
GEOTECHMIN GROUP participated in the Open Doors Day with two booths where it presented its major business activities and summer 2021 internship programmes. Teams from the companies Geotechmin OOD, Ellatzite-Med AD, Geostroy AD, Geotrading AD, Patstroy-92 AD
, Bekastroy EAD и Ulichno Osvetlenie EAD promoted paid internship opportunities for students of various specialties. A special quiz with questions and answers on the mineral raw materials industry was organized for the visitors. The booths were visited by high school students from Sofia city and Agro-Technical Vocational High School in the town of Zlatitsa, with whom Ellatzite-Med AD, Geostroy AD and Geotrading AD are implementing a project for dual vocational education and training. Furthermore, the teams of Geotechmin OOD and Ellatzite-Med AD warmly welcomed their scholarship students from the University of Mining and Geology “St Ivan Rilski” to take a look around the booths.
More than 600 inquisitive children and youngsters saw how mining science has been integrated into practice, they enjoyed watching plenty of interesting experiments including an “explosion” simulation, miniature models of mines demonstrating digitalization processes, etc.
