GEOTECHMIN GROUP donates new waste collection truck to Etropole Municipality under Bulgarian Virtues Programme
Etropole Municipality has added a new eco-friendly waste collection truck to its fleet, donated through the Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme. This marks the third such donation under the programme, following previous donations to the municipalities of Mirkovo and Zlatitsa.
The RENAULT waste collection truck, equipped with a Resor garbage body and a Euro 6 engine, provides top-tier environmental compliance and advanced safety features for municipal workers. It will be operated by the municipal enterprise Public Works and Utilities – Etropole (BKS-Etropole), supporting timely, efficient, and sustainable waste management across the municipality.
During the official ceremony, the Mayor of Etropole Municipality M.Eng. Vladimir Aleksandrov expressed his profound gratitude to GEOTECHMIN GROUP and Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov. ‘Just seven months ago, we were only planning to establish a municipal enterprise BKS-Etropole. Today, thanks to the support of the Bulgarian Virtues Programme, it has already become a reality,’ he said proudly.
Mr Dominic Hamers, Executive Director of Geotechmin OOD, presented the keys for the new truck to Mayor M.Eng. Aleksandrov and emphasised the Group’s ongoing support for the local community. ‘Our commitment to this municipality spans decades, with numerous completed projects, including those under the Bulgarian Virtues Programme,’ he said. He also highlighted several key projects, such as the complete overhaul of the central heating system and swimming pools at Hristo Yasenov Secondary School, the implementation of energy efficiency measures at Todor Peev Secondary School, the renovation of the local hospital roof, the donation of a modern X-ray machine, and partial renovations at two kindergartens.
Among the official guests attending the event in the town of Etropole were M.Eng. Vasil Shishkov, Director of Ellatzite Mine Complex, Mrs Rumyana Ivanova, Executive Director of Geotrading AD, Mr Ivaylo Georgiev and Mrs Katya Simeonova – Deputy Mayors of Etropole Municipality, representatives of the municipal administration, BKS-Etropole, and the donating companies.
The programme, founded by Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov and the companies Geotechmin OOD, Ellatzite-Med AD, Geotrading AD and Geostroy AD, continues to strengthen the partnership between business and municipalities in the region where GEOTECHMIN GROUP operates, in line with its strong commitment to local communities.
