Ellatzite-Med AD wins digitalization category at Mr. and Mrs. Economy Award 2021
Ellatzite-Med AD is the winner in the Digitalization category at the 31st edition of the prestigious Mr and Mrs Economy 2021 competition co-organized by the largest employers’ organization in Bulgaria ˗ the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB) and Economy Magazine. This is one of the awards evidencing that the Bulgarian economy is performing successfully despite the pandemic. The other prestigious economy awards were given in the categories Market Expansion, Green Policies and Innovation. Traditionally, the Grand Prizes Mr and Mrs Economy were presented for outstanding contribution to the Bulgarian economy in 2020.
The gala ceremony for awarding the winners took place in Sofia Tech Park on 25 November. The event was attended by the Minister of Economy Mrs Daniela Vezieva and the Minister of Finance Mr Valeri Belchev. On behalf of GEOTECHMIN GROUP, the official guests included Dr.Eng. Ivan Vutov ˗ Vice President of Geotechmin OOD and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KRIB, Mr Dominic Hamers˗ Executive Director of Geotechmin OOD and member of the Management Board of KRIB, and M.Eng. Kiril Iliev ˗ Executive Director of Geotrading AD.
The digital excellence award was presented to M.Eng. Dragomir Draganov by Mrs Boryana Manolova, CEO of Siemens for Bulgaria. ‘For me, as a representative of Siemens which is a technology leader in industrial automation and digitalization in Bulgaria and around the world, it is an immense pleasure to present this award for digitalization. And the award goes to a company which has been making long-term purposeful investments in digital technologies to be able to digitize mining operations and processes ˗ Ellatzite-Med with its Executive Director M.Eng. Dragomir Draganov,’ said Mrs Manolova.
‘I accept this award as a great honour for the entire team of Ellatzite-Med, which has managed to maintain and upgrade our business operations in a sustainable, socially responsible and cost-effective manner over the past year. And it would not have been possible without adopting and integrating the latest digital technologies in the mining industry. This award motivates every one of us to continue improving all aspects of our operations and follow the path of digital transformation,’ said M.Eng. Draganov.
Traditionally, the symbol of the competition is the statuette “The Fisherman and the Goldfish” by the sculptor Stavri Kalinov. It has been awarded for 31 years to entrepreneurs, managers, economists and financiers who have contributed to the successful business development in Bulgaria.
We remind you that in 2020 Prof. Dr. Tzolo Voutov was honoured with the highest award – the Grand Prize Mr. Economy for his overall contribution to the Bulgarian economy over the last three decades.
As every year, special prizes were also awarded at the gala ceremony. Mrs Kamelia Slaveykova, Country Chair of Shell Bulgaria, was awarded for the company’s 30-year presence as one of the leaders on the Bulgarian market. She received her award from M.Eng. Kiril Iliev, Executive Director of Geotrading AD.
