Dominic Hamers takes part in “ESG and Energy Efficiency in Real Estate and Construction” Forum

GEOTECHMIN GROUP will release its first ESG report in 2026, reflecting data from 2025. Preparations for its implementation commenced immediately after the adoption of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and accounting standards.
To date, we have completed a comprehensive dual materiality assessment of our activities, with all stakeholders contributing to the identification of the key material topics that are most important to the Group.
Specifically for the construction and real estate sectors, the key environmental topics include: mitigating and adapting to climate change, energy use, waste management, and the circular economy.
Based on the collected data, we will develop a strategy, an ESG framework, and a decarbonisation plan to guide our efforts in the future.
This was announced by Mr Dominic Hamers, Executive Director of Geotechmin OOD, at the event titled “ESG and Energy Efficiency in Real Estate and Construction: Challenges and Opportunities”, organised by 24 Chasa Daily and United Bulgarian Bank.
He also highlighted the Group’s diverse portfolio of buildings, emphasizing that we are preparing to reassess our sustainability measures in response to the forthcoming implementation of the new Energy Performance of Buildings Directive in Bulgaria.
‘We are committed to conducting a detailed analysis and focused on establishing clear, achievable targets for sustainable development,’ Mr Hamers confirmed.
