‘Our ecologists undertake continuous reclamation of post-mining disturbed lands at Ellatzite mine. Generally, land restoration activities are carried out by our employees with the help of local forestry companies. This year, our employees offered an innovation – to perform biological reclamation using an agricultural drone over two steep terrains that are very difficult to access by people. The management team supported this idea and implemented the pilot project,’ explained Mr Hamers.
These are only a few examples of Ellatzite-Med’s consistent policy to support and encourage its employees’ ideas and professional development. ‘The company has more than 2,000 employees, and 530 of them are women,’ said Mr Hamers – a fact that really impressed the participants attending the event.
Mr Dominic Hamers also talked about the company’s partnership with the vocational high-schools in the town of Etropole and Srednogorie region. The first four high school students who had graduated from Zlatitsa Vocational High School became full-time employees at the company, and three of them are studying at the University of Mining and Geology “St Ivan Rilski” in Sofia.
