Companies from Geotechmin Group are partners in Dual Training Projects
The companies Ellatzite-Med AD, Geostroy AD and Geotrading AD from GEOTECHMIN GROUP are partners in dual vocational training projects at two high schools in Sofia region. By doing so, the companies are aiming to help young people choose a profession and provide them with attractive job opportunities after completing their secondary education.
Over the past few years, the companies have been supporting the professional education in the specialties Welding Machines and Equipment, Electrical Fitting of Production Processes, and Automotive Transport Equipment at the Vocational High School of Agriculture and Technology in the town of Zlatitsa. For a second consecutive year, the three companies have been partners of Todor Peev Vocational High School in the town of Etropole in providing apprenticeships in the specialties Road Construction Equipment and Electrical Installations.
The dual vocational training is a modern educational model which has been practised very successfully in several Western European countries and in recent years – in Bulgaria. It provides students with valuable opportunities to acquire theoretical knowledge at their vocational school and gain practical skills in one of the partner companies. The training lasts 5 years and is divided into two phases. The first phase (for 8th to 10th grade students) comprises theoretical and practical education which is conducted by teachers of general and vocational subjects at the high school. In the second phase (for 11th to 12th grade students), two or three days a week, students apply their knowledge and skills in the real working environment in a partner company under the guidance of highly qualified mentors. In addition to gaining first-hand practical experience, the students receive apprenticeship wages for their work.
