Book donations on the occasion of 24 May
On the occasion of 24 May – the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slavonic Alphabet, Geotechmin OOD and Ellatzite-Med AD donated books to the libraries of 16 schools and 14 community centres in Srednogorie region and Etropole Municipality. The donations were made under Culture and National Identity Programme – part of the corporate social responsibility practices of the two companies.
More than 800 books by contemporary and classic Bulgarian authors, philosophical literature and children’s books were donated to community centres in Mirkovo, Zlatitsa, Pirdop, Dushantsi, Bunovo, Smolsko, Petrich, Chavdar, Chelopech, Karlievo, Tsarkvishte, Anton, Koprivshtitsa, and Etropole.
Furthermore, Geotechmin OOD and Ellatzite-Med AD donated books to schools in Mirkovo, Chavdar, Chelopech, Zlatitsa, Pirdop, Anton, Koprivshtitsa, Etropole, Lopyan, and Malki Iskar.
The purpose of this programme is to enhance spiritual growth, education and sense of national identity in young people from Etropole Municipality and Srednogorie region where the companies operate.
Culture and National Identity Programme was launched in 2012 with a donation campaign in the spheres of arts and literature. It is a long-term initiative and is carried out with the companies’ own funds.
Since 2012, Geotechmin OOD and Ellatzite-Med AD have donated more than 20,000 books to kindergartens, schools and community centres in 14 municipalities by hosting a number of cultural events with the participation of renowned scientists and artists.
