Rehabilitation of 22 km of road II-81 Kostinbrod – Buchin Prohod

Patishta 2016 – First Stage Consortium with a leader Geostroy AD and Patstroy-92 AD, Roads and Equipment EAD and Dimas AD as partners completed the rehabilitation of Lot 2, Road ІІ-81 Коstinbrod – Buchin Prohod from km 8+200 to km 30+400. The total length of the road section is 22.2 km. The project was implemented under the Operational Programme Regions in Growth 2014–2020, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

The reconstructed road section of Lot 2 starts from the town of Kostinbrod, runs through it and the village of Buchin Prohod, and reaches the road junction towards the town of Godech. In addition, 2 bridges were renovated – over the River Blato and the River Buchino, as well as 13 road junctions. Road drainage was provided through the construction of new ditches with concrete lining, concrete curbs and catch drains. Landslide stabilisation was carried out at km 9+950 to km 10+030. The section has been equipped with new road restraint systems, horizontal road markings and traffic signs.

The implementation of the project has improved the quality of the entire road section, thus increasing traffic safety. The road in Petrohan Pass shortens the travel distances between Sofia and Montana by about 50 km.
