Sustainable energy

A photovoltaic power park having 1 MW capacity for self-consumption was commissioned in 2023 at the Flotation Complex. Carbon emissions amounting to 1000 t CO2 eq. annually are expected to be saved.
Power generation is provided by 1,968 high-efficiency solar panels produced by a global manufacturer listed in the Top 10 of the annual ranking Bloomberg New Energy Finance Report. The plant construction was assigned to a leading contractor specialized in investment, renewable power plants design and engineering, provision and construction. Energeo EOOD, part of GEOTECHMIN GROUP, was selected to perform investment quality assurance and quality control during the construction process.
The project is part of the long-term strategy of Ellatzite-Med to expand the share of energy consumption from renewable sources in the company’s energy mix. The company envisions to gradually integrate new technologies for higher efficiency in power consumption and make larger green energy investments.
The electricity generated by the plant in 2023 is 1 356 446 kWh. The company develops other similar projects, which are expected to be commissioned in two years.
