Culture and National Identity Programme
Since 2012, Geotechmin OOD and Ellatzite-Med AD have been undertaking initiatives for enhancing spiritual growth and sense of national identity in young people from the municipalities where the companies operate. Our campaigns are carried out with corporate donations and our employees’ voluntary work.
Every year, Geotechmin and Ellatzite-Med invest in sustainable education and donate books written by Bulgarian and world classics to more than 30 schools and community centres in the municipalities of Etropole, Zlatitsa, Koprivshtitsa, Mirkovo, Pirdop, Chavdar, Chelopech, Anton. A substantial amount of books is donated to Svetlina 1921 Community Centre in Slatina District in Sofia, which is Geotechmin’s long-standing partner. Cultural events are also organised as part of the programme, giving an opportunity to meet prominent scientists, writers, poets and artists.
The success of Culture and National Identity Programme among local communities has motivated us to continue undertaking new patriotic initiatives – regional competitions for students from the municipalities where the companies operate: “My Homeland through My Eyes” (2015), “A Dream of Freedom” (2016), “Treasures from the Past – the Life and Work of People in My Homeland” (2017), “140 years of Freedom. The heroes and Events from My Homeland” (2018).
